We were invited to visit a camel farm located in the desert only a short drive from our home. It was quite an amazing experience.  Honestly, I was a little nervous  after hearing that the MERS virus was thought to be transmitted through camels. Not just any camels but camels from the Eastern Provence of Saudi Arabia… right where we live. But all is well, and we had a blast.

This is what you call a camel hug.

They LOVE flat bread, and would eat it gently from your hand!

I was amazed that we could just walk around with them. They were actually very sweet.

We were offered BBQ and camel milk for refreshements. Our hosts were so hospitable, and made us feel very welcome.
