Here are some animal friends we have met in our neighborhood. As we are surrounded by desert, I think many animals like to call this place home.

These white guys showed up in December. I think they flew here for the winter.
Al Gara Mountain.
There are not many places to visit within Saudi Arabia. When we heard of some unique rock formations only an hour drive away, we had to check them out.
This is the camel head rock. It really is an uncanny resmeblance.
Traversing the rocks in an abaya… always interesting:
Our background is a date farm.
On the drive home stuck in my abaya, I see these studs, and wonder why it is that I must cover up… lol

Great to see some wildlife and wildlands from your time in Saudi.
I can ID all your birds, but am a little uncertain about the exact species of lizard you photographed. Although, I can tell you its a gecko.
Bird # 1) Hoopoe (pronounced hupu)
Bird # 2) Eurasian Collared Dove
Bird # 3) Common Myna (awesome mimics)
Bird # 4) House Sparrow
Bird # 5) Cattle Egret (in the heron family)
Wow Thanks! I knew you would know! The only ones we knew where the dove (not what kind though) and the sparrow. The Egret reminded us of a heron. Do you know if the Egrets are only here for the winter? We can hear the doves all of the time. They are really vocal. The hoopoe is really beautiful! I was excited to show him to you guys!
